Antares Holdings Limited appoints Ewen Gilmour as Non-executive Director
Antares, the specialist Lloyd's insurance business, today announces the appointment of Ewen Gilmour as Non-executive Director of Antares Holdings Limited, the group's Bermuda based holding company.
Ewen Gilmour has had a long and distinguished career in the UK insurance sector, with a particular focus on the Lloyd's market. He currently holds a Non-executive Director position at Xchanging Insurance Services, as well as being on the board of Antares Managing Agency Limited (AMAL), which was formed in January 2010 to manage Syndicate 1274 and is a subsidiary of Antares Holdings Limited. In addition, he serves on the Council of Lloyd's and has been a Deputy Chairman of Lloyd's for four years.
Ewen spent 11 years at Lloyd's insurer Chaucer Holdings PLC, joining initially as Finance Director and serving as its Chief Executive from 1999 until his retirement in December 2009. Prior to Chaucer, he spent three years at Amlin PLC. Formerly a corporate financier with Charterhouse Bank, he moved to the Lloyd's market in 1993 to help facilitate the introduction of corporate capital. He is a qualified chartered accountant and began his career at KPMG.
