The Marine Cargo and Specie team has an established market presence, having been underwriting in London for over 25 years. The present team has developed the account to the extent that a leading position is taken on over two thirds of the business written.

We have a diverse and extensive knowledge of the business with specialist expertise in Commodities, Petrochemicals, Projects, Fine Art, Vault Risks, Musical Instruments and Precious Metals. The focus is very much on achieving a high level of continuity and long term commitment with all our clients.

The portfolio consists of both direct and reinsurance business with proportional treaties and excess of loss reporters written in selected territories. This provides the ability to write a spread of business, both geographically and in terms of risk type, whilst maintaining high underwriting standards through local knowledge and contact.

This contact with client and cedant is seen as key and is backed by a comprehensive travel programme.

The principal distribution channel is through regulated Lloyd’s brokers within the London subscription market.
